Materials and Techniques

We stress archival framing for your fine art and keepsakes.  Properly framed, these items should be easy to remove from the frame without damage.
Acid free, conservation mat and backing boards, museum hinges, and utltra violet filtering glass are all recommended.
Our extensive collection of frame mouldings include thousands of quality wood and metal finishes.  A variety of current trends, classical antique replicas, karat gold leaf finishes, splined hardwoods, plexiboxes, and box frames are all showcased in our design area.

Special matting techniques include:
Hand wrapped fabric mats
Fillets or mat liners (small wood moulding in the mat opening)
French mats - hand ruled lines, panels and marble papers.
Painted bevels and faux painted panels
Deep bevels
V-grooves
