Bio In 1973, founder, Rick Turner left his career with the federal government and followed his dream of owning his own business. His interest in fine art and picture framing seemed a natural choice, since his mother was a well known local Virginia artist.
His sister, Lorraine Turner Coons, was chosen to operate their first location in a quaint historic building in Falls Church, Virginia. Production Manager, Ellen Harms, who has a BFA in drawing and printmaking, was hired in 1989 with 8 years of prior framing experience.
As the business outgrew the small space (they had to feed large frame molding through a back window), they moved to a larger facility at Tyson's Station Shopping Center. As their clientele continued to grow they established a second retail location in Great Falls, Virginia in 1978. The Sterling, Virginia design center and central work shop was acquired in 1988 to accommodate the increasing volume of frame orders from multiple retail locations. Currently, Turner's is operating out of the Sterling and Seneca Square locations.
Lorraine (Raine), Ellen, and all the experienced staff, including several Certified Picture Framers, provide the finest in personalized service. Their wide range of experience in the framing industry allows Turner Framing to handle any project, large or small, with precision and efficiency.
